Mt. Carmel Hospital, is a large busy hospital offering a holistic health care service both to in-patients and day patients including medical, surgical, obstetrical, orthopaedic, dermatological and many other specialities.  For more information on Mount Carmel Hospital facilities click here

The Little Company of Mary founded Mount Carmel over 50 years ago and the complex has grown and continued to be an effective centre of healing and wholeness.  The initial small hospital was housed in what is now the convent. This had previously been a Carmelite monastery, hence the name.

With the support of medical friends and other benefactors the present modern hospital has developed with the times, in response to patient needs.  The large LCM community keeps abreast of many health-related needs especially in the Dublin area, including pastoral care, an HIV project and recent developments in complementary services.

There is a cluster of small LCM communities, in family-sized houses, in the Dublin area. Sisters from these come together regularly for prayer, reflection and recreation. Their ministries include: Administration, parish work, theological study, chaplaincies to prison and college, vocation ministry and nursing education. They are all focused on building up the people of God in their local areas, through friendship and being good neighbours.
