Fermoy nestles in a beautiful part of the Blackwater valley on the main Dublin-Cork road. The Victorian convent at Monument Hill was built for the LCM sisters who have, since that time,
had a variety of ministries here.
Part of the parish complex, Monument Hill Convent at present hosts
prayer groups, domiciliary and pastoral activities as well as bereavement and counselling training. Local women's group activities and Home Care Assistant training have been fostered here.
Trainees have gained meaningful employment in offering valuable care services especially to frail older people in their own homes. The sisters have traditionally had an outreach to travellers and
new Irish residents.
