The sisters of the Little Company of Mary of the Irish Province welcome you to these pages.

As members of an international community of  religious sisters, we are part of a wide network of women working for the betterment of humanity.

Founded in England in 1877, by Venerable Mary Potter, the first Irish community of the Little Company of Mary was formed in 1888 with the opening of St. John's Hospital  in Limerick.

From the first beginnings of the Little Company of Mary, Irish women committed themselves to the vision of the founder, and have sought to create a world in which every human person - and particularly those who are dying - receive the care and love they need to become whole in body, mind and spirit.  Prayer and care for the sick and dying permeates all our ministries.

We are supported in our endeavours by our LCM Associates and Volunteers. To learn more of the life of an LCM Associate, Click here

In all that we do, we seek to bring the maternal care of Mary to the poor, the sick, the suffering.

Our lives are simple, in that what we seek to do is simply love.
